Thank you to fans, customers and members for your continued support of All These Roadworks writing! Here’s what’s happened over the last month.

Personal update

2020 just keeps on doing its thing.

We’re no longer in lockdown here, but social distancing is still enforced, so I’m really not seeing other people outside my household very much.

But things are better than they were! I’m getting more original writing done.

For reasons of health and COVID, I’m doing very little paid work in my day job right now, so this website represents a larger and larger portion of my total income. If you’d like to support me, now is a great time to buy e-books and memberships!

Nevertheless, I’m healthy overall, and not in any immediate financial stress.

What did members get in May?

Premium Members continued to have access to the full e-book library, in addition to the novel-length story The Lesbian Debt.

How is the site doing?

May was the site’s best month so far. If the site made this much income every month, I could live on it – just.

However, I think April and May were boosted by the lockdown bubble, with people in isolation buying porn. June is showing signs of being significantly less profitable. My hope is that the *average* of the site continues to increase regardless of individual spikes and dips.

I’m ALSO taking a hit because the Australian dollar has significantly strengthened versus the US dollar, largely based on our countries’ comparative responses to coronavirus. When I started the site, I made the decision to sell in US dollars because that is where the vast majority of my customers are coming from. However, betting against my country is leading to some financial pain as the exchange rate changes. That’s on me, I guess.

Thank you to everyone who’s purchased an e-book or membership over the month of May.

Story Requests and other features

As members are aware, I’ve been struggling with some content during the COVID period. I feel I’m trending back upwards at this point, which is good.

As of this writing I have one undelivered story request to process. (It’s the next “pop star” story.) Then I’ll be reaching out to members who’ve backed ongoing stories in the past to see if they want the next chapters.

Given I’ve had difficulty writing to requests for a few months now, I don’t want to promise what happens next after that, but I would like to continue or finish the ongoing stories, so that’s a priority.

You’ve already seen a (short) Reality Check go up in June, and those should be back to one a month now, in an ongoing fashion.

Arth-Keros will have to wait until I’m confident I’m back on track with core content.

Site upgrades, Dropbox, et cetera are likewise paused until I’ve got the core content covered.

Donation

As part of the process of writing gender-degradation and non-consent erotica in a responsible way, I have committed to donating at least 5% of the site profits each month to a women’s charity combating domestic violence, unsafe housing and/or sexual assault. (See this post for more info.)

This month I donated an amount of $140 AUD (about $98 USD) to a registered charity providing domestic violence crisis support to women.

COVID-19 lockdown is putting a lot of pressure on domestic violence services right now, due to new stresses in relationships, and increased impacts on victims in abusive relationships having to spend more time with their partners. Now is a great time to make a donation to a domestic violence charity in your area if you have the ability to do so.

Conclusion

Thank you to all members for your continued support in a difficult time. I value you all immensely, and I hope you still feel like you’re getting good value for your memberships.

Thank you also to direct customers, and thank you to all fans, whether you spend money or not. The idea of monetising my work was always that the people who *did* have a disposable income to spend on erotica would subsidise my creative output for those who don’t, and I appreciate feedback and love from all my readers.

Remember – you can also support my work by:
* sharing your enthusiasm and links to my work in consenting kinky communities (but remember it’s high impact, so don’t put it anywhere where someone who doesn’t want to see it might be offended by it);
* reblogging my posts on BDSMLR,;
* catching typos in BDSMLR posts or e-books and reporting them to me;
* sharing your fanfiction or fan-art – I’ll even re-post it if (a) it falls within my range of kinks; (b) I’m satisfied you hold copyright to all elements; and (c) you give me explicit permission to do so.

Thanks again! And keep enjoying!
