Are your covers AI art? I don’t see credit to any artist
This book, like the majority of my books, uses an AI-generated image, generated by me.
Prior to using AI art I was using Creative Commons Zero images, which also did not involve a cost or require an attribution, and which I chose not to attribute so that photographers and models would not find their names appearing on an erotica site.
I stopped using stock photos when I was approached by a model who claimed the licence was invalid and was mortified to find herself appearing in erotica. I have no way to verify the licences on stock photos and could no longer ethically use them under those circumstances.
(Some books still feature CC0 images – I’m slowly replacing them.)
I had a brief experiment some years ago with commissioning paid cover art from a talented artist, but the economics (and turnaround times) simply don’t work for the erotica publishing model, and it produced no increase in sales over other cover processes.
Fair enough, if that’s the approach that works for you. I personally won’t be purchasing since I have a hard stance against AI art due to the environmental impact and the ethics. Clearly it works for you, I’m not trying to change any minds, I wish you luck
In terms of environmental impacts, I can assure you that the images were generated locally on my computer, requiring no internet access, on a ten-year-old computer, in a house almost fully powered by solar power, and no water was consumed in their production. The vast majority of actual usage of AI has no greater consumption of power or water than any other application.
But you’re allowed to buy or not buy whatever you want. Best wishes.
Is there a second book in progress?
Absolutely there is! Book Two focuses on Juno South, the second member of the Cat Clique. The stakes will be raised and new threats will present themselves!
Paid members can read Part 31 (the first chapter of Book Two) right now, and Part 32 will release to members on 7 May, and there will be at least one chapter released every month until the story is complete.
