As mentioned in the recent Upcoming Stories post, I’m implementing a new Core Stories policy. The details are as follows:
- Eight stories will be chosen as Core Stories.
- Core Stories will get at least one chapter a month, every month, until they’re complete.
- The chapters of Core Stories will be scheduled, so you can see when they’re dropping even before I’ve written them.
- Other stories will be deprioritised until a Core Story is completed and a new Core Story is chosen.
This policy means that you get more chapters of the stories you like best, on a more regular schedule.
Three of the eight Core Stories will be chosen by a general survey of the readership. The remainder will be chosen by a survey of Premium Members, and by direct choice by me.
Premium Members should check their emails to find a link to the Premium-exclusive survey.

People are responding to this survey very quickly and I can say that after a very short period there are some very clear preferences emerging in the results…. 🙂
I tend to find I’m out of step with popular consensus on these kinds of things but I can hope 😄
As I write this comment I have 290 responses to the General survey, and the most popular story is ahead by 50 votes. The second, third and fourth most popular stories are close enough that it’s a contest, and then after that there’s a fairly big dropoff.
The frontrunners in the Premium survey are largely the same but the Premium Members have very different preferences to the General after the first three.
What is Compelled Courtesy?
A spiritual sequel to “Average Availability” using the same “make up a rule you have to follow when you’re chaste, get rid of rules by being slutty” hypno structure (and set in the same world, not that it matters), but with a slight variation on how it works.

This survey is only ultimately choosing three stories so picking more than five stories is just diluting the vote for your actual favourites. 🙂
