Heads up – things are going to be a bit different for a week.

My partner and I have bought a house, and we’ll be moving over the week of 8 to 14 April. Yes, that’s a real-life physical house. I’m not talking about my web domain or anything.

First of all, thank you to all my customers for putting me in the financial position where I can pay half of a mortgage entirely out of the profits of erotica. It’s definitely a dream come true, and I appreciate each and every one of you. (It’s not a big mortgage, or a big house, as these things go, but it’s a hell of a lot better than renting.)

As a result of the move, I’m going to have limited internet access for some of the move period, plus a range of other commitments. Therefore I’m announcing the following for the week of 8 to 14 April.

  • It’s a Reblog Week – The regularly scheduled new stories for paid members on 8, 9, 11 and 12 April will instead be reblogs. (Free queues will be unaffected at this time but free readers will see those reblogs come through about 50 days later.) I will post most of these reblogs in advance before I lose my internet access, and the remainder when I’m set up in the new place.
  • No New Book on 13 April – There’s normally a book release every Friday, but Friday 13 April will have no release.
  • Delayed Processing of New Memberships – New memberships purchased in this period may have longer delays before they’re activated. (They may possibly need to wait until 14 April, although I hope to do better than that.) Any new membership purchased will be set to run from the date that it’s activated, so you’ll still get your full period of membership.
    Renewals of existing memberships will be unaffected.
  • Delayed Customer Service – I may be slow in responding to customer service queries over this period, although I guarantee that any problem will still be made good, and that the response will also include compensation for any delay in responding (where appropriate).
  • No New Posts on Some Sites – I probably won’t be putting up new posts on CHYOA, Hentai Foundry, Read Only Mind, Smuthub, or Reddit during that period. Also, the queue still doesn’t work on ReblogMe, so I won’t be able to manually push posts from the queue there (although I will catch it up after the move). This site and BDSMLR should be unaffected, and free readers will still get a new story every day on both.

The content schedule will fully return to normal after 14 April, with new serial stories and one-shots, full customer service, and a new book – “FreeUse Country” – coming from author Apophenia on 19 April!

    1. Thanks! It’s a little smaller than where we are now, but it’s nice, and we’re both delighted to be building equity on our home rather than enriching a landlord. (Plus excited to be able to make our own changes to the property without worrying about getting landlord permission.)
      We’re also aware that buying is really difficult for a lot of people in the current economy – it was for us, until recently – so we also recognise it’s a privilege.
      It’s pretty close to where we already were so it’s otherwise not much of a change.
