The Great Restructuring formally reduced women to the status of second-class citizens throughout the nation, and this naturally required some changes to the way democracy worked.
Everyone agreed that women would still have a place in parliament. After all, they represented a sizeable chunk of the population. In fact, that place in parliament needed to be *guaranteed* – after all, women of the past had too often followed their natural inclination to defer to men, and elected male leaders instead of their fellow women.
Therefore a third of the seats in parliament were set aside exclusively for women. These were the only seats in government they could win – but they were *guaranteed* to be won by women.
However, there was some concern that these seats might end up held by women who acted like men. This would defeat the point. Women needed role models that reflected their true nature as breeders and decorations, and it was the viewpoints of these breeders and decorations that needed to be advanced in parliament.
So laws were made to ensure only truly *representative* women were elected. Firstly, all nominations for candidates for election needed to be approved by a parliamentary subcommittee made up of ten men. Disruptive or unacceptable women could thus be eliminated from the process at an early stage.
Then a requirement was made that female candidates must be naked and sexually aroused during all public appearances during the election campaign. It was generally recognised that this would most closely replicate the “natural state” and “native thought patterns” of a woman, and give voters a better insight into the true character of female candidates.
In any case, being naked and aroused was something of an advantage, because serious female candidates understood that there was no point in appealing to their fellow women for votes. The vote of a man was worth four times that of a woman, so no woman could hope to be elected without the approval of male voters.
Lastly, the outcomes were affected by the “boob multiplier”. Female candidates with a bra size lower than a G cup would lose votes relative to how small their breasts were. Any woman who wanted to be elected either had to have a natural prodigious bosom, or pay for surgery to get her udder size corrected.
